Assistance policy
Community Bridge Columbia helps individuals, students, and families identify, understand, and take the next step toward help. Requests are welcome from the person who needs support and from someone referring them, such as a church, counselor, school, or family member.
What a request is
A request is a request for navigation and connection. We respond as capacity allows. We may refer you to a partner organization, help with a form or digital step, or explain a program Community Bridge can offer when funding exists. We do not guarantee eligibility, availability, or immediate placement.
Emergencies
Community Bridge is not an emergency or crisis-response service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. For mental-health or suicide crisis support in the United States, call or text 988.
Counseling and spiritual care
Professional counseling access connects people with qualified professional resources. Community Bridge does not itself provide licensed therapy unless qualified licensed professionals are employed or contracted for that purpose. Christian spiritual care is a separate service for people who want prayer, encouragement, pastoral guidance, or mentoring. The two may complement each other. They are not the same service. Other help does not require a profession of faith.
Privacy of requests
Help requests and counseling-partner inquiries are not published on this website. They are used to respond and to coordinate an appropriate next step. See the privacy policy for how information is handled.
